If a child is abducted to a foreign country by one of its parents, the parent remaining in the Netherlands should immediately get in touch with the Dutch Central Authority at the Ministry of Justice or the International Child Abduction Centre of the Netherlands. You should also report the abduction as soon as possible to the police. The sooner the abduction is reported, the better the chance of recovering the child.
In addition, the parent in the Netherlands should contact the Legal Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If possible, Dutch embassies and consulates will inform and advise him or her
